The ISO certifications in the naval industry
TheĀ customer orientation, theĀ respect for the environmentĀ and theĀ workers securityĀ are three of SYM Navalās vital commitments.
The implementation andĀ continuous improvementĀ of these principles help us to optimize our performance, and thatās why we haveĀ three ISO certifications issued by Bureau Veritas for ship builders, converters and repairers and technical offices in naval engineering. The three of them are transversally integrated in all our activities and projects.
The observance of the ISO norms is voluntary and confirms SYM Navalās commitment with excellence. This way, we can communicate it to the interested parties with certifications that are endorsed by official organisms from more than 35 countries as aĀ warrantĀ of theĀ quality,Ā safetyĀ andĀ reliabilityĀ of our products and services.
In this effort to perfect our processes, we have chosen Bureau Veritas as a partner. Bureau Veritas is the world leader in certified norms and has helped more than 60,000 businesses to certify the quality of their management systems. Moreover, it counts with a specialised naval division that offers theĀ highest guarantees in our expertise area, also adding the value of an independent evaluationĀ that issues an internationally renowned certificate.
Quality management system ISO 9001:2015
Our customers need a high quality standard in the products they purchase and the services they contract. The orientation towards quality prepares an organisation to make profit from the new opportunities that show up in the market.
The ISO norm 9001:2015 is based on the eight fundamental principles of the quality management:
- Decision making based on data analysis
- Customer oriented management
- Well-balanced relationships between the enterprise and its suppliers
- Leading staff
- Committed and proactive staff
- Management based on processes
- Processes are planned as an interlinked system
- Continuous improvement is the main goal
In summary, the ISO 9001:2015 certification proves our will to implement a systematized structure in all the aspects of management, our customer orientation and our proactive commitment to follow all the applicable laws.
Environmental management system ISO 14001:2015
Achieving a balance between the environmental respect, the social interests and the economyĀ is essential to satisfy the current needs without putting at risk those of the future generations.
At SYM Naval we are committed toĀ sustainable developmentĀ and keep the environment as a priority in all our operations and facilities in Europe and the Caribbean, both on land and in the sea. We meet the highest environmental standards, involve our providers and perform actions of maintenance and cleaning that goĀ beyond the minimum legal requirements.
The warranty of this commitment is the environmental management system certification ISO 14001:2015. This international norm provides us with a frame of reference to protect the environment and adapt to its changing conditions, avoiding theĀ pollutionĀ and the inefficient use ofĀ resources, preventing theĀ climatic change, the deterioration of theĀ ecosystemsĀ and the loss ofĀ biodiversity.
In addition, we have introduced a continuous improvement process for the environmental performance that follows a PDVA pattern (Plan, Do, Verify and Act):
- Plan: establish all the environmental goals and the processes needed to meet them.
- Do: set up the processes.
- Verify: establish the monitoring processes that will measure the results.
- Act: take the right decisions to achieve a continuous improvement
Health and safety management system ISO 45001:2018
SYM Navalās main assets is itsĀ human capital: a team of professionals, technicians and naval engineers with a great ability and experience in naval construction, who are committed to the development, the quality and efficiency.
Our workersā health and well-being is one of the keys to our success. It is thus essential to provide aĀ safe and healthy work environment, proactively foreseeing and avoiding the possible harms and injuries.
From March 2018, the international norm ISO 45001:2018 is the new standard for the health and safety management. It provides the right tools to reduce risks, accidents and illnesses related to the work in all the organization levels.
Implementing the ISO 45001:2018 is a strategic and operational decision that allows us to identify, analyze and evaluate the risks that affect our personnel. We count with a modern management system for the security at work designed toĀ identify the dangers in our activity, protect the employees and take work security measures that are right for the specific requirements of the naval sector.
This certification provides many benefits:
- Reduction of the injuries and health problems derived from the work activity.
- Development and spreading of the work safety and health policy.
- More motivation for the whole team.
- Better control of the risks.
- More protection for suppliers, partners and subcontractors.
- Legal safety thanks to the observance of the laws about security and health at work.
This is a useful post for finding broken links within the website, what about links pointing outwards that are broken? I can use a free web service but wondered if this was possible.
Great tool! I am using a redirect plugin to send all my 404ās to my home page but I think itās slacking sometimes.
