This multipurpose vessel, whose construction will soon be carried out at SYM NAVAL‘s shipyard in Vilanova i la Geltrú, will be transported by sea and will serve the port of Nouméa, capital of New Caledonia and main port of the country. Société Minière Georges Montagnat is a New Caledonian company that has been working for several generations to ensure the sustainable exploitation of the territory’s resources. It currently employs around 200 people.
Multipurpose harbor vessels TM-036-080
SYM NAVAL‘s TM-036-080 multipurpose port vessels are fully adapted to the operational needs of shipowners and the requirements of port authorities at international level. With a length of almost 12 meters and a beam of 4.5 meters, and a fixed point pulling force of up to 10 tons, these multipurpose vessels are fully capable of carrying out the most demanding port tasks in any port in the world.
The vessel that SYM NAVAL will build for the neo-Caledonian Société Minière Georges Montagnat will be powered by two Doosan L126 TIH engines offering a total power of 800 hp and its top speed will reach 8 knots. The vessel’s compact design will facilitate its high maneuverability and stability, which will make it an ideal harbor vessel to support the various maneuvers to be performed by other ships or floating vessels in the Nouméa harbor.
At its shipyard in Vilanova i la Geltrú, just 30 kilometers from Barcelona, SYM NAVAL carries out its naval construction, repair and conversion tasks. Under the supervision of a Classification Society belonging to the IACS (International Association of Classification Societies), the shipyard’s naval constructions ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.
